Chris talks about his earlier statement on Coldplay's future
Chris opened up during his appearance on Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on her birthday on Tuesday January 26th.
Answering a question from Ellen about the latest press reports on the band's future, Chris confirmed that Coldplay will only make three more albums, and that they will all be released by 2025. One of them will be the soundtrack to a musical they plan to write!
"I think that's what feels right to us,", Chris said. "I think we'll still tour and we'll still be together as a group of musicians and friends, but I think the story of our albums ends at that point. Like Harry Potter ends at a certain point."
When Ellen asked him about the musical, asking if it will be produced on Broadway, Chris clarified:"I think we'd really like to do a movie musical." Then he joked that it would be called East Side Story.
Chris added: "We are lucky to be able to follow what we think is right. That's what we've decided to do. That's why our music changes a bit. Sometimes we lose some fans and gain others. But, really, it's become a lot of fun since we have the privilege to follow what feels right. Everyone should do it."
